Dave Pylant, who has provided the weather for the KOAM Morning News for most of the past two decades, was scheduled to end his third stint with the station today, but did not do the program today.
The following statement was posted on KOAM's Facebook page:
We know many of you have tuned in this morning to help us send Dave Pylant off, as today was to be his last day. We'd planned some surprises and a party for our friend. Unfortunately Dave couldn't make it in today. Still we want to thank you for watching and wish Dave the very best.
Will be highly missed, great guy....
ReplyDeleteWill miss him on morning show. Was sad he couldn't make it in for final day.

ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed his take on sports, news and especially the weather. He was one of the great ones. Now, how about Nick Kelly replacing him as he is also great as a weatherman. Those two rank right up there with Ray Foreman, Bandy, Garvilis as some really accurate weather people. I will not make personal comments about Channel 7's other weather guy. He just is not the person the others were or are. Take Dave and have a good retirement, you deserve it for all those early mornings.
ReplyDeleteYou can't ever beat Lee George.
ReplyDeleteDave we will really miss you as I awake in the morning just to see you and Tanya as always so cheery. Have watched you all these years. Good luck and enjoy yourself.
ReplyDeleteI am having a Coffee and Baileys in your memory
ReplyDeleteWhy did he leave? Loved watching him each morning.
ReplyDeleteDave Pylant was my only reason for watching Channel 7! Will miss his demeanor, his wit and knowledge and the fact that HE COULD READ. The best on-air personality that Channel 7 had, except for Doug Heady. (the best 2 in the 4-states) Mornings won't be the same.
ReplyDeleteDid Dave retire, take another job somewhere or what? I loved watching him on the morning show. He and Tawnya are the best. I have seen Dave paired with many people through the years and he always seems to make them feel at home and does well with whoever they pair him with. Will miss him so much! Best wishes to him - he is a swell guy!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck Dave!
ReplyDeleteDave I always watched u. You are so calm n cool. I can't help but hope to see u again on koam. But I understand enough is enough. Wish u the best!

ReplyDeleteDave, still miss seeing you and your "bobble head" every morning. I hope & pray that your departure was not for health reasons. Take care always.
