THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...

  LIMITED ICE ACCUMULATION RISK.
  LIMITED SNOW AND SLEET RISK.

DISCUSSION...

A WINTRY MIX OF LIGHT SNOW...SLEET...AND FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL BE
POSSIBLE LATE TONIGHT...WITH THE BEST CHANCES ALONG AND WEST OF
THE INTERSTATE 49 CORRIDOR. IF THIS PRECIPITATION
MATERIALIZES...MINOR ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE ON ROADWAYS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

A STORM SYSTEM WILL STRENGTHEN AND PASS SOUTH OF THE REGION FROM
THURSDAY INTO THURSDAY NIGHT. A LIGHT WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION
WILL THEREFORE REMAIN POSSIBLE INTO THURSDAY NIGHT...HOWEVER
WIDESPREAD IMPACTS ARE NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME. THERE IS SOME
POTENTIAL FOR A QUICK ROUND OF HEAVIER SNOWFALL ACROSS FAR SOUTH
CENTRAL MISSOURI FROM THURSDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY FRIDAY MORNING.
HOWEVER...WEATHER MODELS HAVE BEEN TRENDING THE TRACK OF THIS
STORM SYSTEM FARTHER SOUTH. IF THIS TREND CONTINUES...ANY THREAT
FOR HEAVIER SNOW WILL REMAIN SOUTH OF THE MISSOURI OZARKS.

BRISK NORTHERLY WINDS OF 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS NEAR 30 MPH CAN
BE EXPECTED FRIDAY AS THAT LOW PRESSURE STRENGTHENS TO THE
SOUTHEAST OF THE REGION.

WIND CHILLS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS ABOVE ZERO CAN BE EXPECTED DURING
THE LATE NIGHT AND EARLY MORNING HOURS ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
