WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED... ELEVATED HAIL RISK. ELEVATED THUNDERSTORM WIND DAMAGE RISK. ELEVATED LIGHTNING RISK. DISCUSSION... THE ATMOSPHERE IS EXPECTED TO BECOME QUITE UNSTABLE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING AHEAD OF AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO REDEVELOP WITHIN THIS WARM AND HUMID LOW LEVEL AIR MASS LATER THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS THE OUTLOOK AREA. STORMS MAY ALSO FORM ALONG REMNANT OUTFLOW BOUNDARIES LEFT OVER FROM THIS MORNINGS THUNDERSTORMS. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL HAVE THE CAPABILITY OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL TO THE SIZE OF HALF DOLLARS AND DAMAGING WIND GUSTS UP TO 70 MPH. THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE IS THEN EXPECTED TO INCREASE THIS EVENING AS THE COLD FRONT MOVES INTO THE AREA. IN ADDITION TO THE RISK FOR DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL...BRIEF TORRENTIAL RAINFALL AND FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING WILL ACCOMPANY THESE STORMS. THE RISK FOR SEVERE STORMS WILL BEGIN TO DIMINISH BY MIDNIGHT OR SHORTLY THEREAFTER AS THE ATMOSPHERE BEGINS TO STABILIZE. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY. A FEW LEFTOVER THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE MAINLY DURING THE MORNING HOURS ON THURSDAY ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI. ANOTHER COLD FRONT WILL THEN BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS TO THE AREA FROM LATE FRIDAY INTO FRIDAY EVENING, ESPECIALLY ACROSS CENTRAL MISSOURI. AT THIS TIME, ANY RISK FOR SEVERE STORMS IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN NORTH AND EAST OF CENTRAL MISSOURI. CONFIDENCE IS THEN INCREASING THAT MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT THE OUTLOOK AREA FROM LATE THIS WEEKEND INTO AT LEAST EARLY NEXT WEEK. IF THIS SCENARIO MATERIALIZES, THERE WILL BE THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAINFALL. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
