Closed session minutes: 10 teachers leave Joplin R-8 district, one hired
The closed session minutes for Tuesday's Joplin R-8 Board of Education meeting shows the resignation or non-renewal of 10 non-tenured teachers and the hiring of one teacher:
No!! Mrs. Pence is the best teacher my child has ever had. Way to go Joplin Schools...your loss with be another district's gain.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Pence is an absolutely irreplaceable member of the R-8 faculty! She goes above and beyond to ensure her students are performing to the very best of their potential. I've seen her pull several students out of slumps to watch them rise farther than any thought they had in them. She is very loved by her students and their parents alike. She has a positive and encouraging nature that shines bright in the academic AND social advancements of her students. I have personally witnessed her maintain this extremely effective practice with her students while hiding from them the fact that she is often reprimanded/punished by her superiors because they view the overwhelming number of student/parental reports of praise and appreciation for her job well done as a slide against those performing at a lesser rate. Although the loss of her to this district is going to be felt by more than she'll ever know, I wish her nothing but the best to her! I truly hope the next school district to be fortunate enough to have her accept a position within their ranks is wise enough to view her exceptional, above parr professional performance and positive parent/student/educator relationships as something ALL in the business of educating our youth should aspire to!
ReplyDeleteWow...Mrs. Pence, no way! She is an outstanding educator. Even nominated by multiple students for the Golden Apple Award. You will find a way better district than Joplin R8. So much for teacher retention.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I just saw this today. Amazing that North would lose an awesome teacher like Mrs. Pence, especially with the latest on the other quality teacher that Joplin supported. Mrs. Pence is the best teacher that my son ever had. The students and staff love her. She is a upstanding teacher with impeccable character. We are thinking about moving out of Joplin. The district is full of rats and scum. Good luck to Mrs. Pence. Another district will appreciate you much more and you deserve the best!!
