R-8 Candidate Forum open to the public- but it's not the Joplin Globe's

A Joplin R-8 Board of Education candidate forum that is open to the public has just been announced and it is not the one that is being held at the Joplin Globe's office.

That one, unless something has changed, it still closed to the public and each candidate is only allowed to bring two people.

An announcement on the Joplin R-8 Accountability Forum Facebook site just revealed that a forum will take place 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 23, at the Memorial Administration Building in the board of education meeting room.

Three new members will be elected to the Board of Education since the incumbents, Lynda Banwart, Debbie Fort, and Christ Sloan, elected not to seek second terms.
