Preliminary hearing for Joplin doctor on statutory rape, sodomy charges set for next week

A preliminary hearing for a Joplin doctor charged with felony statutory rape and statutory sodomy is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, in Jasper County Circuit Court Division V before Judge Joseph Hensley.

Dr. Jeremy Goins, 35, allegedly committed the crimes with a 16-year-old girl between February 1, 2016, and February 26, 2017..

Goins is free on $40,000 bond.
(Goins' attorney expects charges to be dropped.)
