Our US Congress just voted to REPEAL the ACA (The Affordable Care Act) and replace it with a measure called AHCA (The American Healthcare Act). By 2026, more than 30, 000 Missourians in the 7th Congressional district will lose their healthcare if our US Senate also passes this dangerous legislation.
Earlier this week Rep. Long said he would vote against the AHCA; his promise was due to a measure that will remove the guarantee for coverage of folks with preexisting conditions.Today he voted yes because of an amendment that he feels fixes the issue. According to all reputable estimates, this “so called” fix is billions of dollars short of a guarantee to cover folks with preexisting conditions.
Rep. Long may have changed his mind about the importance of covering Missourians with preexisting conditions, but his constituents have not! Healthcare is an issue that is imperative to us all. The AHCA is going to cover fewer Americans and saddle many Missourians with higher premiums.
Southwest Missouri Democrats and Joplin Indivisible will be protesting this disastrous vote tomorrow, Friday, May 5th , from 12pm to 1pm, during the lunchtime rush. We will meet on the sidewalk. outside Rep. Long’s Joplin office at 2727 E. 32nd St. #2, Joplin, MO 64804.
Our Congressman Rep. Long has made his decision; now we as citizens must appeal to our US Senators Roy Blunt and Claire McCaskill to save our healthcare coverage.
Roy Blunt (fecal stain) is as party before country republican as you can get. This fool will only roll over and vote the way his rich owners tell him to vote. It doesn't matter what the people that elected this trash into office actually want. The rich know what is better for you than you do. He will continue to pocket his lobbyist family money and get rich off of your taxes while giving the top 1% their tax breaks and kickbacks. Boss Hog has done his part now he can get back to the buffets in Vegas. He was having withdrawals.
ReplyDeleteBy all means tell Silly Billy you are pissed at no longer getting something for nothing.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that he will give it all the consideration that this tantrum is due.
Wont Trumpcare hurt rural hospitals in this area?
ReplyDelete@ 2:16 Silly Billy doesn't listen to anyone from Missouri. I work for a living and have insurance through my employer. I have elderly relatives and friends that will be hit hard by this. Hopefully you will be covered under the republican "tax break for the rich" insurance. Congress has exempted themselves from it. Now put your tinfoil hat on and go stare at the sun some more. And get someone to give you something shiny to play with.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 5:38,
ReplyDeleteYour elderly relatives will be covered by Medicare ( not one iota to do with Obamacare) , assuming they are legal citizens of USA or Puerto Rico
