Ashcroft schedules tour to explain new Voter ID law, Joplin not included

On Monday, June 5, Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft will begin a week-long, statewide Voter ID Informational Tour, beginning at 8 a.m. in Columbia on Monday and ending in Ste. Genevieve with a 6:30 p.m. event on Friday. 

The informational events will allow Missouri's chief election official an opportunity to share clear and accurate guidance to Missourians and the media about the new voter ID law and assist anyone who needs to register to vote. Secretary Ashcroft will continue to reassure Missourians that "if you're registered to vote, you can vote."

He isn't visiting Joplin because he has an "R" beside his name. That is all he needs to get the vote here.
