Loryn Barclay, 24, Monett, is free after posting a $25,000 surety bond in Lawrence County. She has not yet appeared in Barry County, where her bond is set at $10,000
School officials told the Monett Times Barclay had been working as a paraprofessional since the beginning of the year and was fired April 27, the same day officials learned about the sexual relationship. Before becoming a paraprofessional, she had worked as a substitute teacher.
Barclay is charged with two counts of sexual contact with a student in Lawrence County and two counts in Barry County.

I think age is a bigger factor here, he's 17. He may still be dumb kid, but he knows he wants to get laid. The only reason this is a problem really is because it's a school rule, she should be reprimanded and that should be the end of it.
You don't arrest people on school rules. This is a state law.
I thought 17 was the age of consent in Missouri? This isn't illegal?
Sex with a student is a felony in Missouri for teachers or other school employees.
smh at the people who don't understand something is wrong (both criminally wrong and sexually deviant) with this...
So in other words, having sexual relations with a male student of the age of consent wouldn't have been a felony if she had been a sex worker or she had screwed him at the truck stop and received money for services rendered.
Sounds like an arbitrary rule to me, of no use except to hide the fact that where there be prey there be predators.
