Hartzler on shooting: We will get this tragedy without succumbing to fear

(From Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler)

After the tragic shooting at Congressional baseball practice Wednesday morning, Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) released the following statement:

“My fervent prayers are with Majority Whip Steve Scalise, Congressional staffer Zachary Barth, former staffer Matt Mika, as well as David Bailey and Krystal Griner, the two officers who were injured this morning in the shooting at the Republican baseball team practice.

“I want to thank the brave Capitol Police Officers who ran toward the danger and took courageous steps to make sure that others were safe. Without their bravery, a greater tragedy could have occurred. Their courage is commendable and inspires all of us to live for others. I feel confident that this attacker will not stifle the American spirit or stop the important work we are doing here in D.C.

“We as Missourians and Americans are strong, and we will get through this tragedy without succumbing to fear. I appreciate all the concern and support from everyone across Missouri’s Fourth District at the news of this incident. It’s an honor to represent you. Please continue to pray for those injured and their families.”

    Harvey,

4:33 is NOT sick, he is absolutely correct! Being that you're a Louisiana coonass, I understand your reading is struggled, so I will type slowly. The Lautenberg Ammendment passed in 1996 made it a federal crime for someone convicted of domestic violence from being able to purchase a firearm. It was reported the shooter had such. This makes the first sentence of 4:33's comment exactly correct. As far as his accusation that Hartzler enables this man to get a weapon, I assume he is referring to Republicans continued efforts to curb anyone's right to own a gun. Perhaps as exhibited by the recent vote on allowing persons on Social Security Disability, that are incapable of handling their own financial affairs, Republicans find these people still entitled. I agree. Perhaps you can define your definition of his sickness with better articulation than a standard coonass.

Thank you 10:30. I assumed most would understand sarcasm but I did not consider the zealot factor. For the record, Mrs Hartzler has supported the repeal of Obama administration rules that banned certain veterans and Social Security recipients that had mental issues from gun ownership. Again, This tragedy could have been prevented. Not sure why one could comprehend that as being sick.
By the way Harv, thanks for ruining the word Patriot for the rest of us this year.

Harvey, she voted on Feb 2, 2017 to allow mentally disabled people the right to buy guns. It was a roll back of an Obama Admin policy that allowed the Soc Sec Admin to identify people that are not even capable of handling their own finances. That is sick.

Harvey, I invite you to daily read the Times Picayune. Today there were six murders in the City of New Orleans. That is pretty much standard for a day in that city. Can you honestly say that some common sense restrictions to gun ownership are not in order?
