(From Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler)
After President Donald Trump announced significant changes to Department of Defense policy Wednesday, Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (R-Mo.) released the following statement:
“President Trump’s decision today to rescind Obama’s transgender military policy has the best interests of the military in mind, and I thank him for taking this decisive action,” saidCongresswoman Vicky Hartzler, who serves on the House Armed Services Committee. “Our military is the most effective, efficient and well-funded fighting force in the world, and as the president notes, we cannot burden our armed forces with the tremendous costs and disruptions that transgender in the military would entail. With the challenges we are facing across the globe, we are asking the American people to invest their hard-earned money in national defense. Each dollar needs to be spent to address threats facing our nation. The costs incurred by funding transgender surgeries and the required additional care it demands should not be the focus of our military resources,” added Hartzler, who has been a proponent of changing the Obama transgender policy since its inception in 2016.
Hartzler recently offered an amendment on the House floor to end the military paying for very expensive sex change surgeries that prevents soldiers from being deployed. Hartzler noted that this current policy of providing and paying for transgender surgeries hurts readiness and is projected to cost more than a billion dollars over the next ten years. This is a conservative estimate with other studies projecting over $3 billion in medical costs over a ten-year period.
According to the Army Times, the military has treated 1.18 million troops for Erectile Dysfunction since 2014 and has spent $294 million on the ED drugs since 2011. At the same time, the Defense Health system has spent $8 million per year on the 7,000 military members for Transgender health care. If Mrs. Hartzler wants to kick out the transgender members for cost effectiveness, then kick out the ED persons as well. They are not manly enough and God obviously does not want then to reproduce.
ReplyDeleteIf not, then I declare this as fake news by the Congresswoman!
The money needs to be spent on DEFENSE.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to discuss medical care, look into what is spent and what should be spent on our vets.
So 7:27, your analysis breaks down as such: $249/soldier for ED drugs and $1143/trans soldier. Cost effectiveness proven. ED is a health issue, transism is a MENTAL health issue. ED should not disqualify anyone from being a soldier, transism SHOULD.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but this taxpayer would prefer that our military is not being used as a tax funded, trans surgery center when these people need a Mental Health Center. I couldn't agree more with what 9:26 said, "The money needs to be spent on DEFENSE.
If you want to discuss medical care, look into what is spent and what should be spent on our vets."
So 9:26 and 10:19, are you willing to take the place of those trans soldiers who aren't allowed to defend their country? If not, then let them serve. John McCain has no problem with them in the military and that's good enough for me.
ReplyDelete1019, 727-This is not "my" analysis, the numbers come from the Defense Department and was reported in the Army Times yesterday. Health care for the military comes out of the defense budget. Mrs. Hartzel claims we should be concerned with the costs of Transgender care. Fine, but look at other unnecessary costs as well. E.D. is not where I want my money spent and in many cases is a mental issue as well. E.D. is Gods way of thinning the heard in my view, pay for that yourself as well if you cannot get an erection.
ReplyDeleteTrumpism is also frequently a MENTAL health issue but we don't hear about that being a disqualifier!
ReplyDelete4:33, ED can be caused by an injury. Maybe from a battle?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but someones identity makes them less qualified to fight for your right to say they're not qualified to fight for our country? GTFO
ReplyDeleteWonderful job Congressman Hartzler!!
ReplyDeleteThe Victory lap is well deserved !!

640, If a battle caused the "injury" of failure to achieve wood, then the soldier can get compensation/treatment from the VA., provided they have medical proof from a doctor that the battle caused the ED.
