Joplin man cited for DWI following head-on collision, three injuries near Carl Junction

A Joplin man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a head-on collision 10:15 a.m. today on Joplin Street, a mile south of Carl Junction.

The Highway Patrol report shows that Joshua Haury, 30, Joplin, who was also cited for careless and imprudent driving, not having a valid operator's license, and for not wearing a seat belt, lost control of a 2000 Dodge Stratus, drove off the right side of the road, came back on the road and struck a 2003 Buick Regal driven by Ermal R. Lovell, 48, Carthage head-on.

Lovell and his passenger, Michelle D. Lovell, were treated for moderate and minor injuries, respectively at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

Haury was treated for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital.

    If he was not drunk, why is he being charged for that? Despite all that he wasnt following any laws otherwise.
