Newly elected state legislator files resolution urging construction of border wall

(From Rep. Chris Dinkins, R-Annapolis)

State Rep. Chris Dinkins has hit the ground running by filing several pieces of legislation during her first week in office, including a resolution that urges Congress to fund and begin the construction of a wall along the United States border with Mexico.

Dinkins’ HCR 104 notes that nearly 1,000 aliens are caught each day as they try to illegally cross the border from Mexico into the United States, and that a significant number of aliens successfully avoid detection and capture to establish residence illegally. The resolution also points out that President Donald Trump was elected on cornerstone promise to build a secure and impenetrable wall across the United States’ southern border, but that Congress has proven reluctant to provide full and immediate funding for the border wall.

“It’s vital that we act to secure our nation’s border against illegal immigrants and against terrorist threats. This is a matter of sealing our borders against individuals who break our laws with their illegal presence, and protecting our tax dollars from being abused,” said Dinkins, R-Annapolis. “My hope is that my colleagues will join me in approving this resolution so we can send a strong message to Congress that they need to act immediately to fully fund and begin construction of the border wall.”

Dinkins’ resolution now awaits assignment to committee for further discussion. If it is approved by the General Assembly it will be delivered to the members of Missouri’s congressional delegation to urge their support for the wall.

Well I see that a massive intellect has now joined the State Legislature. Emphasis on State, namely leave the National Politics to the people serving in National Offices.

I remember when Republicans told us that Mexicans would do the work that Americans would not do and that we needed a World Economy or we would not survive. The Unions fought illegal immigration because it would cut American wages. American business hired illegal aliens as fast as they crossed the border to take advantage of their illegal status. Wow, things have sure changed!
The Mexican laborer realized he was getting shorted. The Unions started organizing the Mexican Laborer. Talk radio began telling you that it was the Mexicans fault that your wages and benefits have been eroding. They demanded tax cuts so they could make jobs and you (sw mo) bought into it. And worst of all, the legal Mexican began voting. Just like the former slaves, they did not vote for the wealth class. They have convinced you that illegal aliens are voting at unimaginable rates even though that has been proven false.
Now they are demanding more tax cuts. Even though YOUR WAGES HAVE BEEN STAGNANT FOR 30 YEARS they have convinced you that every Mexican is on welfare and that Obama will take your guns. ( After last night, how did that work out?!)
So here we are. The stock market is at record highs-although half of the country owns 0 stocks. A few companies are paying $1000.00 dollar bonuses! Almost enough to pay off one out of several credit cards! whoo hooo! But what they have not told you is that 3 Billion dollars has been given to the working stiff in bonuses, but 90 Billion has been paid to share holders and for dividends. Layoffs are happening and the country is about to see job losses due to technology like we have never seen before. Truck drivers, ever see those driver less vehicles?
You are about to get hammered Mr working stiff and I truly feel for you. I am a union employee. I have a 401 k with matching funds. (remember those?) It has been doing great, by the way. I have paid vacation, paid holidays, paid sick leave, and maternity leave. I have a college funds for my kids that will at least pay for 4 years at MSSU. My family has not succumed to financial pressure that many have. Aren't these things that we all want? Think about that as you read all of the assessments of the Florida shooting. All we have heard is that the American Family has eroded. And it has. Both parents are working non-stop low paying jobs just to survive.
I do not say these things to hurt people. I just want every working person to have a sense of value and pride and hope for a comfortable future as I have. The Republican party is the one fighting all of these benefits. Turn off your TV and start reading. I hope it is not too late for you.

Unions are a scam. I have every benefit you named and then some without paying dues to a middle man.
There may have been a time for unions but that time is long since past.

856- Most people do not have those benefits and you know it. Just look at a wage graph. How is having a representative against a corporation a scam? SW MO is a fairly poor area with very few union jobs, but go ahead, keep doing it your way.
