Normally, the Turner Report does not deal with rumors, but with an important local political race at stake, these rumors could not be ignored.
Recently, it was reported that Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce President Rob O'Brian was forming an exploratory committee to determine if he will run for the 32nd District State Senate currently held by term-limited Ron Richard.
While that is true, other rumors are not, including the following:
-O'Brian did not commission a study that showed that not only would he be able to defeat Rep. Bill White, R-Joplin, by a landslide in the primary, but that Joplin can support major league baseball if Joe Becker Stadium is enlarged.
-O'Brian has not said that if he runs, he will not be using a campaign manager or that he feels he would be better off with a master planner.
-Three is also no truth to the rumor that O'Brian had drafted a news release announcing his candidacy, but accidentally deleted the e-mail.
But he IS still a slimy snake oil salesman.
