Judge revokes accused Christmas Eve killer's probation; arraignment in murder case set for Monday

Artilius Jordan has yet to stand trial for the Christmas Eve murder of Sean Harris, 43, Joplin, but he is already headed to prison.

During a hearing Monday in Jasper County Circuit Court, Judge David Mouton revoked Jordan's probation on a 2013 burglary charge after Jordan, 47, Joplin, admitted to violating his probation by failing to pay restitution.

According to court records, Jordan was sentenced to five years when he pleaded guilty on July 28, 2014, with the sentence then suspended.

Jordan's arraignment on the murder charge is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday before Judge Gayle Crane. The probable cause statement alleged Jordan shot Harris because he believed Harris was having sex with Jordan's girlfriend.

Jordan is also charged with two counts of assault and three counts of armed criminal action.
