Fifty lobbyists give $70K to Josh Hawley campaign, DeVos family kicks in $27,000

At least 50 lobbyists contributed  $70,900 to Attorney General Josh Hawley's campaign to unseat Sen. Claire McCaskill during the past three months, according to his financial disclosure report filed with the Federal Election Commission.

The lobbyists represented special interests across the spectrum with many of them handling insurance, pharmaceutical and health care interests, while others looked after the interest of banking and financial groups, energy and communications.

Hawley also received $27,000 from five members of the DeVos family, though not from Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.

The report shows Hawley received $1,554,095.95 during the quarter and spent $961,716.97, leaving him with $1,347,345.95.

Political action committees accounted for $296,750.
