(From former Joplin City Councilman Bill Scearce)
My Fellow Citizens:
Having spent 16 years as a Joplin City Councilperson, I know how hard it is to be a Councilperson. You make decisions every meeting that affect peoples lives.
Councilperson Phil Stinnett, a former Councilperson and Mayor is a voice of reason and logic on the present City Council.
I find the statement by those circulating the recall petition, “People are afraid to leave their homes because there are not enough Public Safety Employees to take care of and protect them”, to be false and misleading.
lf a person approaches you and asks you to sign the recall petition, simply refuse and be on your way.
If you have signed a petition, contact the circulator and ask to be removed by crossing off your name, address and precinct with a line drawn through them. If you do not know the circulator, you can contact the City Clerk at City Hall, 602 Main Street and in writing give her your signature, name, address and precinct, and give her a notarized statement that you want to be removed from the recall petition, if and when she begins the certification process.
Allow Phil Stinnett the use his leadership skills and municipal government knowledge to navigate Joplin through these troubled times.
What genius started a petty petition? Phil is not an elitist clone.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, Phil Stinnett is perhaps the best Councilperson up there. There is zero reason to recall him, and to the person who started it :” you’re either an idiot or a sore loser “ I lost in the last election as well, but I would rather cooperate than pack recall petitions and encourage witch hunts, and phony investigations.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you very much Mr. Scaerce( as now a private citizen) to have the courage and initiative to work towards putting a stop to this nonsense; Good letter former President Pro Tiem of City of Joplin!
