Thirty-three more Sears stores to close, Northpark Mall store not on the list

The Sears store at Joplin's Northpark Mall has escaped the ax one more time.

The company announced today it is closing 33 more Sears stores and 13 K-Marts.

The only Missouri store on the list is in Cape Girardeau.

The closings will reduce the total of Sears stores in the U. S. to less than 500.
