Judge suspends probation, Ace Mohr still being held on $30,000 bond

Judge David Mouton suspended Ace Mohr's probation September 6, after the Carthage Police Department arrested Mohr August 18 on a felony domestic assault charge.

Jasper County Jail records indicate Mohr is still being held on a $30,000 cash only bond.

Mouton sentenced Mohr to five years in prison March 5, then suspended the sentenced and placed him on probation for five years after Mohr pleaded guilty to felony charges of receiving stolen property and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. As part of his plea agreement, multiple felony charges, including possession of methamphetamine and cocaine, were dropped.

The domestic assault was the second violation filed against Mohr in the five months after he was placed on probation. Jasper County Circuit Court records indicate a violation report was filed July 12, with a recommendation that Mohr's probation be continued.

No such recommendation followed the second violation report.

The probable cause statement alleges Mohr "pushed (the victim's) face into a wall causing (the victim's) upper lip to break and bleeding to occur.

"Ace then locked (the victim) in the bathroom, taunting (the victim) to kill (redacted). He then shoved (the victim's) face into broken glass on the floor causing a laceration on the forehead and serious bleeding to occur."

The victim was able to break away from Mohr, according to the statement and 911 was contacted.

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for September 19 before Judge Joseph Hensley.

  2. It is a joke that this individual was allowed to be on the streets. Too many chances. Time to start holding judges accountable.
