Preliminary hearing for accused killer set for Thursday

The preliminary hearing for accused killer Kosaksy Phillip, 24, Joplin, will be held Thursday before Judge Joseph Hensley in Jasper County Circuit Court.

Phillip is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the August 29 shooting death of Diamond J. Bradley, 33, Joplin, at the Economy Inn and Suites, 1700 W. 30th Street.

JPD officers were called to Economy Inn and Suites after a report of a shooting and found a wounded Bradley, who died later at Freeman West Hospital. The autopsy showed Bradley was shot four times, including once in the chest, once in the hip and twice in the lower leg.



Kosaksy was already awaiting trial on felony drug and tampering charges.

An autopsy completed today in Kansas City shows Bradley was shot four times, including once in the chest, once in the hip and twice in the lower leg.
