Missouri Chamber of Commerce honors Carthage legislator

The Missouri Chamber of Commerce presented Rep. Cody Smith, R-Carthage with its Freshman of the Year award Thursday night.

The award is presented to a representative who supports pro-business legislation.

Smith, who will begin his second term in the state legislature in January, will be the senior member of the Joplin area contingent, with all other area representatives, Bill White, Bill Reiboldt, Mike Kelley, Bill Lant and Charlie Davis all unable to run for re-election due to term limits.
