Former Sarcoxie High School communication arts teacher Baylee Turner admitted to Jasper County Sheriff's Office deputies that she had sexual intercourse with a student at her home, according to a probable cause statement filed today in Jasper County Circuit Court.
Turner, 23, Carthage, who had been with the Sarcoxie R-2 School District for three years according to Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education documents, made the admission after a student told investigators what had happened.
The sex took place between January 14 and January 21, according to the probable cause statement.
The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office charged Turner with a Class E felony of sexual contact with a student.
Bond has been set at $10,000, with the conditions that she is to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 and she is prohibited from drinking alcohol.
