After a lengthy period of working on the new book, going through the writing, editing and rewriting process a few times, following a lengthy research phase, it has been good to get back into the normal blogging routine the last few weeks.
While I have been able to keep up with the day-to-day blogging while working on Lost Angels, I now have more time to work on beefing up the content on all of the blogs.
I have also had help this week and in the past from you, as readers have continued to supply me with tips on stories that have not been covered in area media, angles that have been overlooked by the traditional media sources on stories that have been covered and suggestions on things that people would like to see on this blog or on Inside Joplin.
A number of times I have received tips on stories that would be absolutely great and need to be told, but at this point anyway, I do not have the means or the ability to do them. I regret those, but keep letting me know. When I receive tips, I am not always able to do something at that time, but often I can write about it later.
One such instance, and the story showed up again in this week's Turner Report Top 10, was the story on the embezzling Jasper R-5 Board of Education secretary. I was tipped off on that one long before I was able to do anything on it, but by continuing to watch court files and keeping up to date on what was going on in the school district, I was eventually able to start writing about it.
Often, readers give me tips on people who have been arrested and who hold positions of importance in Joplin and area communities or tell me of arrests that are in the works.
All of those things have helped me keep the Turner Report a blog where you can regularly find stories that have not been featured elsewhere or different angles and perspectives on stories that have been reported.
Thanks for your help.

Half of the top 10 list is sex crimes against children. When are we going to do more to protect them?
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Zero tolerarance for sexual or violent crimes against children. No probation, incarceration for lengthy sentence on first offence. If there is a second offence, termination.
