Sarcoxie R-2 Board seeking to have former teacher's license revoked after filing of felony sex charge

Sarcoxie R-2 Superintendent Kevin Goddard told media Thursday that the Board of Education is seeking to have the license of former high school English teacher Baylee Turner revoked after her felony arrest for having sex with a student.

Turner resigned Sunday night, Goddard said, and the board accepted the resignation Monday.

Turner, 23, Carthage, who was in her third year teaching in the R-2 District, admitted she had sexual intercourse with a student at her home sometime between January 14 and January 21, according to the probable cause statement.

Bond has been set at $10,000.
