Seneca man sentenced to seven and a half years on meth trafficking, weapons charges

U. S. District Court Judge Douglas Harpool sentenced Joshua W. Kimball, 27, Seneca to five years in prison on a weapons charge and two and a half years for meth trafficking with the sentences to run concurrently.

The sentencing took place during a 33-minute hearing today in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri in Springfield.

A grand jury indicted Kimball after the Newton County Sheriff's Office arrested him at a Granby residence.

The U. S. attorney had recommended the consecutive sentences for Kimball citing his three previous drug-related convictions and numerous traffic convictions, with a majority of those being for driving while revoked and without liability insurance.
