Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force executes search warrant on rural Joplin home for suspected child pornography

Investigators with the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant Monday morning at a rural Joplin home searching for evidence of child pornography, according to documents filed Thursday in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.

At this point, no record has been filed of any arrests, but the search warrant inventory indicates the items confiscated included a Samsung laptop computer, a plastic Ziploc bag containing a "green, leafy substance,"and  a ceramic pipe with residue.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the search warrant application, investigators traced child pornography software to an IP address at the home on January 18.

The files downloaded at that IP address included photos of children appearing to be six to eight years old.
