Anderson man pleads not guilty to child porn charges, ordered held without bond

An Anderson man pleaded not guilty to child pornography charges Wednesday in U. S. District Court in Springfield.

During a seven-minute hearing, Judge David P. Rush ordered Levi Erwin, 26, held without bond while he awaits trial.

A detention motion filed earlier this week by the U. S. Attorney's office outlined Erwin's dealings with former Joplin resident Paige Cagle, 25, who has been charged in U. S. DIstrict Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky with receiving and distributing child pornography.

(O)n February 21, 2019, McDonald County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) received a report that child pornography had been located on the defendant’s cellular phone. MCSO Detective D. Pierson interviewed the defendant, who stated, he began speaking with Paige Cagle on the KIK application.

Erwin knew Cagle as they used to work together. Erwin disclosed that the two engaged in sexual conversations, including Cagle sending him a video of Cagle vaginally stimulating a two-year-old minor female.
