Carthage man charged with felony child abuse for allegedy breaking five-year-old's leg pleads not guilty

A Carthage man who allegedly broke his five-year-old daughter's leg January 11 pleaded not guilty during a video arraignment this morning in Jasper County Circuit Court.

Lance Breeding, 27, who is charged with felony child abuse, was bound over for trial February 21.








A Carthage Police Department news release said Breeding's five-year-old daughter had to have surgery on a broken leg and that her abuse also included severe bruising on her back, buttocks and legs.

The next hearing in Breeding's case is scheduled for 9 a.m. June 10 with Judge Gayle Crane presiding.
