Life in prison for Joplin child molester

Judge Gayle Crane sentenced a Joplin man to life in prison Monday for statutory sodomy.

A jury found David Schachtner, 37, guilty after a three-day trial in January in Jasper County Circuit Court.

Schachter sexually assaulted a seven-year-old girl. During his trial testimony, Schachtner claimed he had only licked the girl's upper leg and that he was drunk.

The prosecution offered a witness who testified Schachter had sneaked into her bedroom and molested her when she was a child.

Wow! That’s pretty steep. It’s also a good start. Next.

      Steep!?!
Steep is slapping him on the wrist and expecting him to be a better person, expecting him not to drink and use it as an excuse for his mistakes..
We don't slap drunk drivers on the wrist, why would this be any different?

    11:33.
Usually life is given for murder. To me, that’s a steep and proper sentence. I like that this guy got life and would like to see it happen more. A slap on the wrist is what’s going to happen to the doctor posted on this blog. Just watch and see.

Maybe our definition of steep is not the same.
