Trial date delayed for Joplin doctor charged with statutory rape, statutory sodomy

The trial of Joplin doctor Jeremy Goins on felony statutory rape and sodomy charges, originally scheduled to begin April 30, has been rescheduled for June 22 in Jasper County Circuit Court.

Goins, 36, allegedly committed the crimes with a 16-year-old girl between February 1, 2016 and February 28, 2017.

The trial is expected to last three days. Judge Dean Dankelson will preside.

    I don’t believe he has the ba—s to stand trial. There will probably be a plea deal. As long as America is soft on perverts, our children will continue to be victims.
