Jacob Williams named Joplin High School assistant principal

Joplin Schools is pleased to announce Jacob Williams as Assistant Principal of Joplin High School. In this role, Williams will be responsible for the discipline and supervision of the Junior Class at all Joplin High.

Williams stated, “I am humbled and honored for the opportunity to serve the students, faculty, and staff at Joplin High School in the capacity of assistant principal. JHS is full of educators who have a “student first” mentality and I anticipate working alongside these teachers to further promote student achievement. I am fortunate to be joining an already strong group of educational administrators who will provide an abundance of knowledge and guidance during my transition.”

Williams said he intends to learn as much as he can this year by listening to the wants and needs of students, teachers, and the community. Further, he added, “I cannot express my gratitude enough to my colleagues who have helped my professional growth during my time in education.”

William has been with Joplin Schools for nine years as a coach, teacher, and administrator. For the past two years, Williams has served as the Assistant Athletic Director. Prior to that, Williams taught physical education at North and East Middle Schools. In addition to his teaching experience, Williams has coached multiple sports and was part of the boys’ basketball program, the track and field program, the volleyball program, and cross country.








Dr. Gilbreth, Joplin High’s new head principal stated, “Jacob will be a great addition to Joplin High School’s Administrative staff. I am looking forward to working with him. His positive outlook and enthusiasm will no doubt help to make Joplin High School a fun place to learn. Our administrative team is excited to help shape the future of Joplin High School.”

Williams earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Missouri Southern State University. He also has a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from William Woods University.
