Graves: Impeachment inquiry is a charade based on third-hand accounts

(From Sixth District Congressman Sam Graves)

There are folks just down the road from me who haven’t been able to get into their houses since March. Think about that for a minute: there are families who haven’t been able to return home for going on 6 months now.

Historic flooding, caused in part by failed river management policies, have decimated folks along the Missouri River. They aren’t alone. Most of North Missouri has seen historic flooding this year and the recovery process continues.

We should be focusing on what we can do to ensure that folks are able to get back on their feet after this year’s flooding, as well as looking closely at how we manage the river, so we don’t see floods like this ever again. Instead, we’re now mired in a sham impeachment charade.

Many House Committees, at the direction of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, are now shirking actual business to instead go after President Trump. That even includes the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee where I serve as Ranking Member. In addition to finding solutions to our country’s infrastructure problems, the Transportation Committee is tasked with overseeing FEMA. That’s a pretty important endeavor in light of what has happened this year in North Missouri.

Yet, this week, instead of holding a hearing on the legislation I’ve introduced to fix the river management problems on the Missouri River or ensuring that disaster recovery and relief efforts are functioning properly, my colleagues on the other side of the aisle chose to hold a hearing on the Old Post Office lease—a desperate attempt to attack the President and sideline the good work of our committee. That’s right—even the Transportation Committee is looking for dirt on President Trump.

Congress shouldn’t be abandoning its responsibilities to play political games. We’ve voted three times on impeachment and it’s been defeated every time. However, Speaker Pelosi continues to try to find a way around the actual impeachment process in an effort to undermine President Trump.

We cannot let this charade based on third-hand accounts get in the way of more important things like ensuring disaster relief is properly distributed, passing good trade deals such as USMCA, and improving our country’s infrastructure. It’s time to get back to the work we were sent here to do.

"Pastor Robert Jeffress, who serves on President Trump's Evangelical Advisory Board and the White House Faith Initiative, had words for young climate activist Greta Thunberg.

Jeffress appeared on Fox Radio's Todd Starnes Show on September 23 to discuss the United Nations climate summit, which President Trump notably attended for just 14 minutes before heading to give an address on religious freedom.

Jeffress referred to climate change as an "imaginary crisis," telling listeners that Trump was right to skip the summit. He then pivoted to discussing Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, who has become the face of the global climate justice movement.

"Somebody needs to read poor Greta Genesis, Chapter 9," Jeffress said, "and tell her the next time she worries about global warming, just look at a rainbow. That's God's promise that the polar ice caps aren't going to melt and flood the world again."

There is no scientific evidence connecting rainbows with the preservation of the polar ice caps.

Starnes agreed with Jeffress, commenting, "This whole global warming, tree-hugging fiasco—again, there is nothing to it. As you point out, they might as well hold a commission on the Tooth Fairy or Bigfoot, Sasquatch."

About 6:41 and what was passed on I am without comment due to being just in utter disbelief that people still believe that, but so be it.
As to Graves and his utter posture of being on hand and knees to TRump and his party so be it, but stop feeding such drivel to your constituents. It shows your contempt for their intelligence and ability to reason what is being published in papers and on news reports by intelligent and reparable journalists. Sad you are so attuned to getting financial support from big business to compromise your integrity. Sad, really sad

Leftists are funny.

Science proves climate change is real. Science proves that genetics doesn't determine sex. Science once gave us a food pyramid that we were all to follow to maintain better health but now that has changed. Science told us that homosexuality was a mental illness but now we know that's wrong. Science is ever changing. Yet the left follows it as if it is a rock solid truth. Look at the history of the climate change movement. It is much like a doomsday cult that predicts the end of the world on a certain date and then kicks the can down the road when it doesn't happen.
Anyone ever consider that what we are experiencing is the natural evolution of our planet?

Congressman Graves just wishes this article was true.

Congressman Graves is probably hoping no one remembers any of the statements he made blaming the pilots for the 737Max crashes.
