Carthage man waives preliminary hearing, bound over for trial on statutory rape, sodomy charges

A Carthage man waived his preliminary hearing and was bound over for trial today on statutory rape and statutory sodomy charges.

The Carthage Police Department arrested Aarron Bittick, 34, after receiving a report from a 14-year-old who claimed to have been molested by him on September 1.

Bittick's first appearance in Division II is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. November 6.

Bittick is being held in the Jasper County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
