Joplin man sentenced to 20 years for killing man he thought was having sex with his girlfriend

A Joplin man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Monday for the Christmas Eve 2017 murder of Sean Harris, 43, Joplin.

Artilius Jordan, 49,  who was originally charged with first degree murder, pleaded guilty to second degree murder under a plea bargain deal with the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office.

Jordan also pleaded guilty to two counts of assault in the second degree and was sentenced to seven years with the sentences to run concurrently with the murder sentence.







Three felony charges of armed criminal action were dismissed."

According to the probable cause statement,Jordan shot Harris in cold blood because he believed Harris was having sex with his girlfriend.
