Ten more COVID-19 deaths in Missouri, eight in St. Louis County

St. Louis County continued to be the source of most of Missouri's deaths due to COVID-19 and raising its death toll to 105, according to statistics released this afternoon by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

Missouri reported 10 deaths, with the other two taking place in St. Charles County and Kansas City.

St. Charles County has had 26 coronavirus deaths, followed by St. Louis with 21, Kansas City 14, Jackson County 8 and Greene County 7.

An additional 184 people contracted the virus, raising the total to 6,321.

The state statistics corrected the total for the City of Joplin. A case had been added Wednesday, but was removed today, leaving the total at seven.

Jasper County has had 16 cases, Newton County 9, McDonald County 5 and Barton County none, according to the statistics. Apparently, the state has had some difficulties in getting his count straight since McDonald County Health Department issued a Facebook post, saying it has only four cases, not five.

Among bordering counties, Dade County has not recorded any cases, while Vernon County has had four.

The state statistics show that 59,266 people have been tested for the virus.
