Dean Van Galen named MSSU president

The Missouri Southern State University Board of Governors unanimously selected Dr. Dean Van Galen, chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls as the new university president.

VanGalen was introduced to the public during a May 8 town hall meeting, following similar sessions the previous two days with the other finalists, Dr. William Tsutsui, former Hendrix College president, and Dr. Frank McConnell, senior vice president for business and finance at the University of North Georgia.

Van Galen will replace Alan Marble who is retiring.
