Five deaths, 114 cases added to Missouri COVID-19 total

Five people died from COVID-19 in Missouri during a 24-hour period, according to statistics released Sunday afternoon by the Department of Health and Senior Services.

The state has recorded 333 deaths and had 10,789 confirmed coronavirus cases confirmed, including 114 during the reporting period.







Four of the five deaths were in St. Louis County, which leads the state with 333, followed by St. Louis with 96, St. Charles County 52, Kansas City 19, Jackson County 15, Franklin County 14 and Jefferson County 13.

The state statistics showed no increases in the total for this area, though McDonald County reported one later, raising its total to 8. Jasper County has 19, Newton County 13, Joplin 10 and Barton County none.

    Where do these numbers originate, and why are there inaccuracies so often? How can there be 333 deaths in the state, and 333 in St.Louis County? This is so unhelpful because I can’t even add them up myself. So many cities and counties with single digit death counts aren’t listed.
