Three new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Jasper County

Three new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Jasper County, but the Jasper County Health Department has yet to share any information about it with the public, other than a reply to a comment on its Facebook page.

"That information will be on our weekly update this week, which is normally posted on Friday afternoon," was the response given to a person who asked why the county's coronavirus number had suddenly increased from 16 to 19 on the Department of Health and Senior Services website.

The cases were posted on the state website Tuesday, but as those who have followed its list of cases by county are aware, it has had incorrect totals for the City of Joplin and McDonald County in the past.

The new cases were also noted this morning during the City of Joplin's COVID-19 briefing. The Jasper County totals do not include Joplin.

The Jasper County Health Department page has provided links to the state website each day when the statistics are updated.
