At the same time the Joplin City Council is considering a face mask ordinance due to the increased number of COVID-19 cases, the same type of ordinance is being considered in Springfield- because of the outbreak in Joplin and the surrounding area.:
The Springfield News-Leader reports:
The idea came up in the council’s weekly lunch meeting Tuesday after Springfield-Greene County Health Department Director Clay Goddard offered his latest update on the virus and expressed concern about outbreaks in counties around Joplin.
The number of cases in Newton, Jasper, McDonald and Barry counties has more than doubled in the past seven days and now the Joplin area is part of the No. 1 hot spot for weekly caseload growth in the country.
The article notes that Goddard pointed out one way in which Joplin's situation could directly affect Springfield- if Joplin hospitals are overwhelmed, patients could be headed to Springfield.
The Springfield council did not take any action, but asked Goddard to do more research.
Lots of deplorable citizens think wearing a mask to protect themselves and others violates their freedums.
ReplyDeleteIn reality what they think is their freedum to not wear a mask makes them more likely to become infected with Covid-19, and also much more likely to infect others with Covid-19.
If this President was a real leader things would be different, but this sentence started the the words "If this president was a real leader" and it is clear to all except the trump deplorables that he is not a real leader.
