Events planned to welcome new Missouri Southern president

Two events have been planned to welcome Dr. Dean Van Galen as the sixth president of Missouri Southern State University and to introduce him to the campus and community.

A special breakfast to welcome Van Galen to campus is set for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, in Billingsly Student Center’s Connor Ballroom.

All faculty, staff and students have been invited to attend the meet-and-greet event.

Van Galen will also participate in a roundtable with business leaders at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Room 356 of BSC. The Q&A session with regional corporate leaders and Chamber of Commerce officials will focus on Missouri Southern’s role in the local economy.

The media is invited to attend both events. Those planning to attend are encouraged to wear masks and observe social distancing.
