Jasper County COVID-19 total at 532, Health Department statement provides little other information

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Jasper County now stands at 532, according to a statement issued earlier today by the Jasper County Health Department.

The number is an increase of 125 since the last time the county posted the number just four days ago.

Jasper County announced its first coronavirus death Wednesday, a man in his 70s who had been diagnosed June 10.

Today's statement consisted of 15 words.

"As of June 27, 2020, the current Jasper County COVID-19 case numbers stand at 532."

The statement contained no information about where the cases are taking place or even any guidelines about measures that county residents should be taking, though in recent news releases, it has been noted that the Carthage area has been hard hit.

The Jasper County statistics do not include the city of Joplin.
