Mask ordinance, COVID-19 response on tap for special Joplin City Council meeting Wednesday

A possible ordinance requiring the wearing of facemasks in the city of Joplin will be among the items discussed when the Joplin City Council meets in special session 6 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall.

Though the discussion item is listed on the agenda as "Discussion on the City's COVID-19 Response and Recovery Plan, Mayor Ryan Stanley said during the city's weekly press conference Monday morning that a mask ordinance would be considered.
