Missouri reports nine COVID-19 deaths, 289 cases during 24-hour period

The state of Missouri recorded nine COVID-19 deaths and 289 new cases in 24 hours, according to released Wednesday afternoon by the Department of Health and Senior Services.

The state's death toll is at 975 while 18,868 coronavirus cases have been confirmed.








St. Louis County continues to lead the state with 554 deaths, including three during the reporting period, followed by the city of St. Louis with 148, St. Charles County 73, including four during the reporting period, Kansas City 31, Jackson County 23, Jefferson County 19, Franklin County 18 and Scott County 11.

The state statistics reflect the first COVID-19 death in McDonald County, which was reported Wednesday, but have not yet added Jasper County's first death, which was announced Wednesday afternoon.
