Jasper County Health Department reports fifth and sixth COVID-19 deaths

The Jasper County Health Department reported the county's fifth and sixth COVID-19 deaths this evening.

Both were females, one in her 50s and the other in her 60s, according to the Health Department news release. Both lived outside of the Joplin city limits. Deaths of those who live in Joplin are not included in Jasper County results.

Both women had been hospitalized prior to their deaths.








The county has had four COVID-19 related deaths in the past three days.

The Health Department did not post updated statistics today, but the statistics posted Friday on its Facebook page showed 1,216 cases, an increase of 20 over the previous day.

The number of people under isolation dropped from 115 to 105, while the number hospitalized remained at 18.
