Joplin R-8 officials offer details on how life will change for students when they return for classes

In a video posted on Facebook and YouTube this morning, Superintendent Melinda Moss and other Joplin R-8 officials explained what life will be look like for students when they return to the classroom this fall.

The officials detail the process they went through to establish the guidelines and health procedures they will use, how and when children will wear masks, how the buildings are being kept sanitized and the procedures that will be used if a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19.

The district will buy facemasks for all students and staff.

If students have to be quarantined, options are outlined for how students in grades 6-12 will be able to keep up online. The R-8 Board of Education authorized the purchase of Chromebooks for sixth and seventh graders.
