Twenty-three people are scheduled to make statements to the Joplin City Council tonight as it prepares to make a decision on whether to adopt a face mask ordinance.
The council rejected such and ordinance June 24 by a 5-4 vote.
The meeting began with Dr. Robert McNab, who heads the COVID-19 unit at Freeman, telling the Council that Freeman is at capacity, and while the city's dashboard only shows six COVID-19 patients from Joplin, the number far exceeds that since Freeman serves the entire area.
Freedum Cockus out in force!
