Ace Mohr fails to show for sentencing, warrant issued for his arrest

Judge Dean Dankelson revoked Ace Mohr's bond and issued a warrant for his arrest after the Carthage man failed to show for his sentencing on a robbery charge Monday in Jasper County Circuit Court.

When the time for Mohr's sentencing arrived, his attorney, Austin Knoblock, was there, but Mohr was nowhere in sight.

Dankelson shouldn't have been surprised.

Mohr's sentencing was scheduled for July 20, but was continued when Knoblock was there, but Mohr was a no show.

Before that, it was scheduled for June 29. Knoblock was there for the defense.

Ace Mohr was not.

Before that, it was scheduled in April. Online Jasper County Circuit Court records do not indicate if anyone showed up.

Mohr, 26, pleaded guilty January 24 to a reduced charge of robbery in the second degree. He was originally charged with first degree robbery after beating a Carthage man with brass knuckles and stealing his wallet, phone and watch on October 27, 2018, according to the probable cause statement. 

The man Mohr pleaded guilty to robbing suffered "a swollen and tender left eye, facial fractures of the orbital bones, facial fractures of the zygomatic process and facial fractures of the maxillary sinus all on the left side of his face," according to the probable cause statement.

Mohr still faces a felony domestic assault charge in connection with an August 18, 2018 incident. A hearing in that case is scheduled for July 28 in Jasper County Circuit Court. 

According to the probable cause, Mohr allegedly pushed a woman's face into a wall, "causing her upper lip to break and bleeding to occur. Ace then locked (the victim) in the bathroom taunting (her) to kill him. He then shoved (her) face into broken glass on the floor causing a laceration on the forehead and serious bleeding to occur."

The next hearing in that case and a possible plea is scheduled in October.

At the time the robbery and domestic assault charges were filed, Mohr was on probation following his January 16, 2018 guilty plea to two counts of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, including heroin, and receiving stolen property. That plea was also the result of a deal which included dropping four other possession charges.

And with all of that facing Mohr, he was arrested yet again June 6 on a Carthage municipal charge of assault, according to Jasper County Circuit Court online records.

Mohr's rraignment is scheduled for Thursday in that case.

He might not be there.
