(From Southern News Service)

Missouri Southern State University has administered a total of 701 COVID-19 tests through the Willcoxon Health Center since Aug. 10.

Positive cases since that date include 11 students and two campus employees. The number of student cases increased by four since the last reporting period, Aug. 18-23.

Thirty-three percent of the campus community members have downloaded the CampusClear mobile app that can be used to self-screen each day. A total of 57 percent of those registered are using the app daily in order to monitor potential symptoms.

All positive COVID-19 tests are reported to the Joplin Health Department by the MSSU Willcoxon Health Center. The offices will work together to notify other health officials as well as impacted faculty, staff and students based on contact tracing while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, FERPA and other applicable laws and regulations.
