Number of COVID-19 patients in local hospitals continues to increase, Joplin COVID-19 count at 449

The number of Joplin residents who are hospitalized with COVID-19 remains low with only two, but the hospitals are beginning to fill up.

Statistics posted on the city's COVID-19 dashboard show the number of people hospitalized is 29, up from 21 six days ago, while the number of Joplin residents who are under quarantine is up to 129.

The city has had 21 COVID-19 deaths, all of them Spring River Christian Village residents.
