Two men, one in his 40s, one in his 70s, mark 14th and 15th Newton County COVID-19 deaths


Newton County recorded its 14th and 15th COVID-19 deaths today, according to a news release issued by the Newton County Health Department.

Both fatalities were men, one in his 40s, one in his 70s, according to the release, and both had "underlying, chronic health problems."

A posting on the department's Facebook page this evening noted 14 confirmed coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, for a total of 1,095.








The number of people who are hospitalized remained at four, while the number of people in isolation fell from 137 to 136.

The statistics do not include the portion of Newton County that is located in the Joplin city limits.
